Texas vs. the Nation Cheerleader Quick Facts
- Name: Western Refining Texas Vs. The Nation All-Star Challenge®
- Division I-A Collegiate Senior All-Star Bowl
- Scheduled to be played January 31, 2009 at the Sun Bowl Stadium in El Paso, Texas.
- Will pit top collegiate players originally from Texas or who play college football in Texas against top players from around the nation.
- Will feature related events throughout the week
- First year’s inaugural game (2007) broke the attendance record for first year all-star games with 21,548.
- Set a record for NFL signees in a first year all-star game with 79 players from the 2007 roster signing NFL contracts.
- Ranked in the top-10 all-time NFL signee record for an all-star game.
- 2nd year (2008) set a new record number of NFL signees in an all-star game with 102 players signing NFL contracts
- The 2009 game will be nationally televised on CSTV.
- Texas has always claimed to be the best at football, here’s its chance to prove it.
Cheerleader Specific Quick Facts:
- Last year, more than 300 cheerleaders/dancers from the El Paso area and across Texas participated in the Texas vs. the Nation half-time show.
- We are inviting 500 cheerleaders from across the state of Texas to participate in the 2009 half-time show.
- At least part, if not all, of the half-time performance will be nationally televised on CSTV.
- Routine will be choreographed and produced by a Texas vs. the Nation representative.
