Jan. 13, 2007

EL PASO, TEXAS - The Texas vs. the Nation collegiate all-star bowl officially released their roster and "Legends of the Game" attendees Thursday, January 11 at a press conference at the Larry K. Durham Center at 2 p.m.

The rosters include over 80 NFL prospects from Texas and around the Nation. Players selected by Texas vs. the Nation were judged on their collegiate performance, NFL draft eligibility and recommendations of their coaches.

The Texas team is made up of players who have high school or collegiate ties to the state as well as a few regional exceptions. The Texas roster will always provide and offer players who have played high school, college or who are natives of the state to secure the primary roster spots provided each year, but will also consider regional or special circumstance prospects so that a complete and competitive roster can be submitted to the NFL Scouts. The Nation team includes players from some of the top football programs in the country including Ohio State, Florida, Michigan, Notre Dame, Tennessee, Boston College, and Louisville.

The Legends of the Game golf tournament and dinner, headlined by Dallas Cowboy Hall of Famer Randy White, will also feature other Cowboy greats such as Everson Walls, Ed "Too Tall" Jones, Larry Brown, Tony Casillas, Barry Switzer, and Robert Newhouse. The "Legends" events will also feature legendary Texas coaches Spike Dykes and R.C. Slocum.
