Texas vs. the Nation All-Star Bowl Brings Back Rivalries of the Past
EL PASO, Texas.- The new collegiate all-star Texas vs. the Nation bowl game will bring back a Dallas Cowboy rival to head-up the Nation squad in it's inaugural game set to take place at the Sun Bowl in El Paso, Texas on February 2, 2007. Buddy Ryan, former Head Coach of the Philadelphia Eagles and Arizona Cardinals, will again face-off against a Texas team as Head Coach of the Nation squad in the all-star game that will pit top collegiate players from Texas against top players from around the United States. The Texas team will be led by UTEP Head Coach Mike Price. The game's CEO, Kenny Hansmire, also announced last week that live national television as well as web coverage will be carried by CSTV. Kick-off is scheduled for 8 p.m. MST. The game will feature week-long events including player autograph sessions, team dinners, and a "Legends of the Game" golf tournament headlined by former Dallas Cowboy hall-of-famer, Randy White. Teams will consist of collegiate seniors ranked in the top 15 at their positions by the NFL. The Texas sideline will feature seniors with high school or collegiate ties to the state while Nation players must have no Texas ties.
